Record fair in Leoben, Austria

What it's about

A Saturday, a venue, long tables and crates full of records on top. Dealers from Styria and beyond, plus private collectors clearing out their doubles and cast-offs. You walk the rows, flip through, find something and talk shop with people who are into the same stuff.

The focus is on metal and hard rock, because that's the music we grew up with and never let go of. But it's a record fair, not a metal convention. If you're into jazz, punk, blues, krautrock or pop, you're just as welcome. Besides vinyl there are CDs, tapes, old music magazines and band shirts.

Food and drinks are provided by the venue. We don't sell drinks ourselves, we take care of the records.

Leoben is about 1.5 hours from Maribor and Ljubljana and an hour from Graz, right on the S6/A9 motorway and on the main railway line. Dealers and visitors from Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and the Czech Republic are very welcome.

Want a table?

We have two kinds of stands. Dealers get several metres of table space and can set up before doors open. Private sellers get one or two metres, no trade licence needed, no fuss. If you've got three crates at home you never play anymore, this is for you.

We're working out table prices right now. Prices are set to cover our expenses, nothing more. If you already know you want to be there, send us an email with your name, dealer or private, how many metres you need and roughly what you'll bring. You'll be on the list and the first to hear what a table costs and how to book.

Selling a whole collection without spending weeks on it

Sometimes a whole collection is in the way. Inherited, left over, or you've simply run out of space. Listing it all online, answering a hundred messages, packing, going to the post office: not everyone's idea of fun.

If you want to sell your records but don't have the time or the patience, get in touch. We'll look at what you've got and may be able to find a solution. Whether that's a table at the fair that someone runs for you, or a dealer who takes the lot, depends on what you have and what you want. We can't promise anything, but asking costs nothing.

The venue

The fair takes place at the grounds of the Area53 Festival, the heavy metal festival held in Leoben every summer. Trading happens indoors in the Tenne: plenty of room, tables not crammed together, and it's heated. Area53 Festival 2027 runs from 15 to 17 July.
